Cruithne

Now, thanks to QI, I know that the earth actually has 5 moons. The most interesting of these is Cruithne, discovered about 20 years ago, that has a horseshoe orbit - it doesn’t actually complete a circuit of the earth but instead oscillates back and forth along this horse shoe path.
